i'm out of state and i'm a minority. how would u weigh my chances? does my rank bring me down? i got Bs during freshman year but i really got into high gear my soph/junior years and cranked out As in honor/ap classes.

Find out your unweighted GPA.

1) When you say minority, I assume you mean URM (Hispanic, African or Native American)

2) Michigan does not look at "weighed" GPAs, nor does it consider Freshman grades, so you may benefit from this.

I would say Michigan is a match for you.

One of the few things about U of M that I know --

Univ of Michigan unweighted GPA: Do not count freshman grades or electives. Pluses and minuses do not count. A second science class taken as an elective does count, but Architecture does not.

what about a second math class?

they dont look at freshman grades? this is great because all my Bs were in freshman year.

confidential -- I would think that if a second science class counted toward your gpa, then a second math class would also. Actually, any second core class would count.

Dhy322, if you only had As and A-s Sophomore and Junior year, along with your 1440 on the Math and Verbal sections of the SAT, I would say Michigan is a very safe match.
