I honestly dont think you get to UNC since you are out-state...

wat if i do really good on the SAT...think i might have a chance? My friend got rejected from UNC this yr tho.

I'd say you have a very good chance if you score in the 1300-1400 range on SAT. Being black will help much more than you think as well.

I was deferred EA (1 of only 500), while some 3000 were rejected.

bump...............

Being african american and having a 4.1 would get u in instate but i'm not sure about out-of-state... just don't slack off first semester senior year incase you get deferred and they ask for midyear grades otherwise ur fine

CCRunner123- where did you find those numbers? are they on the UNC website?

There were definately more than 500 early action defferals runner. My school had about 15 alone.

Someone on CC made a post about that information. Search for the post.

According to him, about 500 were deferred, about 600 accepted, and the rest (about 3700 or something like that) were rejected.

This is information from last year, btw.

Maybe that's just the figure for OOSers

Here are some early decision statistics from the class that entered two years ago (Fall 2004). I don't think things are too drastically different from one year to another, so I think the figrues that CCRunner123 quoted from somebody else are probably not accurate. I'm pretty sure I saw a similar newsletter for the Fall 2005 class, but the counselor part of the admissions website is no longer accessible, unless you're a counselor. I was just able to track down this website a different way.
