Chances at UND Early Action

I am a white male at a large Catholic school in the midwest and am wondering if I have a chance at UND Early Action. UND is probably my No. 1 choice.

Stats:

GPA: 4.2 (4.3 = A+ 4.0 = A), pretty much the most demanding schedule available to me

APs: US History (5), European History (4), Calc AB, Chemistry, English Language

ACT: 31 overall (36 on english, down from there), may retake in fall

SAT: 680 CR, 730 Math, 680 Writing (2090/1410), will retake in fall

SAT IIs: 730 Chemistry, 690 Math IIc, 620 World History, may retake in fall

Class rank: School doesnt rank but im guessing somewhere in the top 5% of around 400.

ECs: (starred are the ones I will stress on application)

*Varsity Football (takes up pretty much all my time)
Co-Editor of school newspaper
Student Counsel Representative
Business Club (May be president if club holds next year)
National Honor Society

Volunteering:
*Summer Mission Trip to Navajo Reservation
*Volunteer at local summer camp for children
Bunch of other stuff

I think you have a very good chance, especially if you can increase your ACT to 33. Are you being recruited for football? If so, I'm almost sure you're in.

I am not bring recruited for football but Im sure the dedication it shows will help me a lot with my application. I will definitely be able to take the SAT again (hopefully get it above 1470 CR+M), but i am still unsure if i will be able to take the ACT again because our team is out of state both days.

Any other opinions?

I'd say you're in a good position... and that you might as well try because it is VERY unlikely for you to be rejected. My personal experience is skewed because I'm from the Chicago area... I was waitlisted and eventually accepted with a 1470 in the top 3% of my class. But I still wish I had just applied EA, for some reason I just thought it could have changed something.
