I go to a school that’s not very competitive, does not rank, and opened only 3 years ago. I will be the 3rd graduating class of 2008. probably top 5% to 10%. There aren’t many AP classes as well. I know my chances are slim, but just asking for advice.
Background: came to the US at age 8. no APs, but taking one in senior year. [there’s only two AP classes in my school]. Self studying senior year to take ap calc bc and statictics/micro/macro

GPA 3.8+
SAT: 1860
M 690
R: 540 >.<
W:630
my weakness= SATs and SAT2s
SAT2; didn’t take yet, will take in October. assuming that i get these scores.
IIC : 700+
Physics: 700+

[retaking both SAT and SAT2s] let's say i get 2000+ for SAT
and SAT2's get around 700+

Asian male?

Penn (Wharton): REJECT
MIT (Sloan): REJECT
New York University (Stern): REJECT
UMichigan (Ross): REJECT
UC Berkeley (Haas): REJECT
UTexas (McCombs): Unlikely
UVirgnia (McIntire): Unlikely
Notre Dame (Mendoza): Maybe/ Unlikely
Stanford: REJECT
Cornell (AEM): REJECT
Emory (Goizueta): Unlikely
Boston College (Carroll): Maybe/ Unlikely

Yeah I hate to say it but as an asian male with average scores your chances are not great. On the other hand you have a wealth of interesting extracurriculars, so I suppose that might give you a shot because you don't fit the typical stereotype. As for the APs you're self-studying for, keep in mind that those won't really help you with college admissions because by the time you take them it'll be far too late. You'll have to mention them in an essay or someplace but that won't have a huge effect (they have no assurance you'll follow through after all). You really missed the chance to do that junior year...

Your scores alone push you out of consideration for admission to many of those schools at all, much less their esteemed business programs.

thanks a lot,

what if i boost my scores to a 2000+ for SATs, and two SATIIs in the 700 ranges?

and my main concern is NYU stern, thanks for the help all.

2100+ is probably a minimum benchmark.

And, even for 2000, I doubt you could increase your score that much.

thank you ses!

anyone can chance me for stern nyu?

thanks and bump

NYU Stern: REJECT

Your SAT is way too low. Stern has a very competitive applicant pool.

if i can bring up my scores, am i in a good position to get into stern? to about how much?

For Haas, you aren't admitted to it directly -- you're admitted to the university, and later on you declare the major and are admitted to Haas. You'd need to get into Berkeley first, and where you stand now, I'd say it's a reach.

bump (10char)

help please :[

bump again, sorry for being annoying. just very anxious.

do u know your UC GPA?

Whats UC GPA?

Sorry.

I agree. All reaches.

bump 10char)))

bumppp 10 chars

Penn (Wharton): High Reach/Unlikely
MIT (Sloan): Reach
New York University (Stern): High Reach
UMichigan (Ross): Reach
UC Berkeley (Haas): High Reach
UTexas (McCombs): NS
UVirgnia (McIntire): Maybe
Notre Dame (Mendoza): Maybe
Stanford: High Reach/Unlikely
Cornell (AEM): High Reach/Unlikely
Emory (Goizueta): Lower Reach
Boston College (Carroll): Lower Reach

My greatest advice to you is to really work hard and improve your SATs scores. you have some nice ECs focused for business but without an increase in your SATs i don't see much happening to be frank

You seriously need to re-evaluate your list of schools.

I don't know, I think you stand a chance at Michigan with that GPA. Michigan is much more about the GPA than the test scores, and since you get admitted to LSA and not the business school, you have a chance of getting in there. I wouldn't put it in the "Match" category, but it's attainable.
