Chances at University of Miami or Georgia Tech..

Hello

I'm curious about possibly going to Georgia Tech, University of Miami, or University of Florida. I am not familiar with admissions policies or procedures at all. Here is some information about me.

APs
US History 4
Statistics 4
Language 5
Biology 5
Chemistry 5
World History 5

I took AP Bio in 9th grade, US History in 10th, and the rest in junior year. This year I am taking AP Calculus BC, AP Physics B (And C Mechanics), AP Government, AP Microecon, AP Psychology, and AP Literature.

I personally self-studied Calc I and II in my junior year...that doesn't really apply in anyway, but it is helping me this year as I have a 100+ in my Calculus class.
I have yet to take the new SAT. I signed up for the one in October. I did take it in 10th grade and I scored quite poorly: 1290 (650 Math, 640 Verbal). However, this was before I became "good" at math (I used to be a horrid math student.) Also, my PSAT score for Verbal was 71 last time, so I t hink I can possibly bring my score up to 700 verbal, 700 math this time.

Do I have any chance of getting into Georgia Tech, University of Miami, or University of Florida?

Extracurriculars (No clue if they help)
Science Olympiad
Business Professionals of America (Vice President)
National Honors Society
Academic Team (Sort of like a "Quiz Bowl" thing. My team won first place in our county competition last year.)

I have 100+ Volunteer hours also.

I'm considering majoring in Math or Physics. I'm very fond of math and I self studied Calc I and II last year and I am now doing Calc III on my own and I may take a college course on Differential Equations, if possible. Also, I am a Florida resident.

Thanks for any opinions and if anyone has any suggestions, thank you.

Also....

I don't know if this affects anything, but I do hold a job that I work around 10-15 hours/week at. (Publix, grocery store.)

Also, In my last summer, I was chosen to participate in Florida's Boys State, which is some sort of week-long leadership program where we go to the state capital and explore the congressional workings of the state and nation. This was an utter waste of time, but I hear that it is prestigious. Will that help at all?

Bump....can anyone offer any insight?

I'm sure someone here can at least help or give me some advice/rank my chances of getting into some of those schools....anyone?

Bump: anyone have any input? Please??

You will get into U of Miami with your existing scores but raise them and they will offer you scholarship money. U of Florida is "funny" with their adcom decisions, you will probably get in but...
I don't have any experience with Georgia Tech. Depending on what you plan to study, you should also pick and apply to a true safety school in Florida.

Maybe I missed it....but I see no mention of your GPA (unweighted or weighted) or anything about class rank. Your GPA is the most important factor in admissions, so indicating what it is would be helpful.

Thank you for your input. Also, I have a 3.9 something GPA cumulative. My first year was...bad. Last year, I got a 4.4 GPA each quarter though, so I've had huge improvement, plus my AP Scores are the highest in the school.

Have you tried the ACT, in lieu of the SAT?

No, I thought about taking the ACT but I was told that most colleges preferred the SAT. I don't know how valid that statement is, but that's what I heard. Also: Do most colleges care primarily about math and verbal score, or do they also want that inane writing score?

Id say you are good for tech if you have a 1320+

I think you are looking solid for all the schools listed. Further, your SATs are near mid-range for all the schools, and I expect you will improve on your re-take since 10th grade anyway.

What is your GPA? That's the most important factor in admissions decisions! We can't evaluate your chances without a GPA and class rank.

If you aren't in-state, UF will be hard. Miami doesn't matter with residency.
