I am going to join Science Honors Society my senior year
I am going to join Weight Lifting team my senior year

I also have a job but I dont know if it matters or not to colleges.

Thanks in advance, AJ

Please, Can anyone tell me what my chances are of being accpeted to UM?

It's tough to say at this point, I'd say you have a pretty good chance. If you get your SATs up slightly you'll definetly be in

Reach: Gotta bring up the SATs. Rest is pretty good.

By how many points do I need to bring up my Sats? 10-20? points? Do I have to raise my scores in a certain area? I recieved a 600 on math and 510 on reading.

Anyone please respond

Improve your reading score by around 100 points and your math score by 20 points and you should be fine.

Well I have friends who got the exact score you did and have a lower gpa than you a BUT HIGHER WIEGHTED, thing is that my high school is Coral gables high school, the high school which is directly across the street from UM so UM accepts a ton of people from my high school every year. Overall i think you have about a 65% chance of getting in, but try raising your score to atleat a 1200.

What do you mean by lower GPA but higher weighted?
Thanks
AJ

sorry i made a mistake, anyways I know someone who got in with a 3.6 wieghted gpa but there parents work at UM.

If anyone else has any advice regarding my matter. Please Post
Thanks

i think you will get in

Everything else is great. Concentrate on getting your test scores up. Try the ACT. Your SAT does not match your class rank . At all. Search for the "Xiggi method" on this site. You'll be fine with some prep on testing. Your schedule and grades show you can do the work.

What is your unweighted GPA?

I've heard of some GPA scales that go up to 8.0 is all that I'm saying.

My unweighted gpa is 3.806 out of 4. The problem with the SAT is that I become so stressed out about it. People who know me know that I am the first person to get a test and last person to turn it in. I am just so worried that a single test will determine whether I become a janitor and not get into college or go to an ivy league school. I just can't help it. I don't want this test to control me. I am a person who likes to gamble so I am thinking just to go with what I have but if there is a great chance that I will not be accepted please let me know.

There is a great chance you will not be accepted. Sorry. Try the Xiggi method. Get some counseling that helps you develop techniques to deal with test stress. Try the ACT. Don't give up. Work will help, whining won't. You can do this. Don't let it beat you.

is the 1100 math and verbal or is it math verbal and writing.

CR+Math, 510 and 600 if I remember. Then he said he had a 10 essay.

Its 1110 Cr+math total. I checked up on the writing section and I discovered colleges just glance at it. They havent actually started counting it. By the way, I tried the xiggi method. It raised my score 80 points to 1110. Also please remember that I am going to apply early action. I think that is the legally binding one in which if I am accepted I have to go.

Anymore feedback?
