I'm a senior attending one of the top public schools in San Diego.
Ethnicity: Iranian American
GPA: 4.0 UW/ 4.55 W
Rank: not sure, because its very competitive over here, but should be top 10%
Have taken or am currently taking 9 APs.
AP Euro History, AP US History, AP Biology: 5
AP Stats, AP Spanish, AP Chem: 4
Also taking 2 college courses (very rigorous courseload)
New SAT: 800CR, 800W, 700M
SAT II: 800 Math IIc, 780 US History, 760 Spanish
Old SAT: 800V, 760M
SAT II Writing: 800
PSAT: selection index 236.

EC's: Probably weak compared to my competition, won't help me that much.
Essays and Recs: should be solid.

I'm applying to: UPenn (i'm debating ED, will the reach become a sure thing if i do it?)
Brown
Columbia
Yale
Stanford
Harvard (these past 4 are HUGE reaches i think)
Georgetown
Claremont McKenna
UC Berkeley, LA, SB

I appreciate your input. If more info is needed i'll be happy to provide it. Thanks!

Your scores are crazy, and those four schools are huge reaches for anyone. UPenn is a little easier and ED will probably help. I think you're a competitive applicant to any of those places.

Brown- Accepted
Columbia- Accepted
Yale- Rejected
Stanford-Rejected
Harvard (these past 4 are HUGE reaches i think)- Rejected
Georgetown-Accepted
Claremont McKenna- Accepted
UC Berkeley, LA, SB- Accepted to ALL, with money

UPenn ED: slight reach
U Penn RD: slight reach

Obviously the odds are better ED. To be more specific I would say you have 50% ED & 35% RD (obviously just a general estimate).

It's tough to call any Ivy a match, but you are very well qualified and I wouldn't be surprised if you were accepted at one of your slight reaches or big reaches.
