yah so bacially i wanna try for upenn, duke and columbia, case and gwu.
what are my chances for scholorships at case and gwu?

Thanks

I would say it would be a reach for the ivies, and possibly the same for duke. I say this because while your test scores are excellent, (maybe a teeny bit weak on the SAT) your EC's are lacking. Do you have any leadership positions? Anything which demonstrates an initiative?

I also hope that many of your 2 year EC's are not ones that stretch from your junior to senior year. Besides outside clubs and sports, do you have any solid 3~4 year commitments to an activity?

Remember that out of all the students that apply to colleges listed of your caliber, more than half, if not close to all, are academically qualified. It has to be the EC's, the rec's, the essay and last but not least the interview that has got to make you unique. Work hard on your essays, get some glowing rec's, and you'd be a strong, not a standout, applicant.

first of all, i think you got great chances, from my friends stats who got in to duke with full scholarship and to many other schools.
your SAT is up to par which is all you need
and i really don't see how 4 years of tennis is EC lacking!
and blackbelt is impressive! i mean how many elite students can say they are going to kick your bottom if you **** them off? (not trying to be sarcastic, i think this will definitely give you a unique persona)
and the summer intern and dedication in piano is just the icing on the cake the offer in the admission package :)
i salute your acheivements :)
good luck with apps

I think it wouldn't kill you to retake the SAT if you are farely sure you can improve it to 2200+ (no point in retaking for the worse or same score). I think this is necessary as your EC's are certainly good, but nothing incredibly unique or phenomenal. It is important as primarily an academic student (even in your EC's) that you prove that you are VERY strong academically -- test scores included.

You seem like a very solid candidate.

PM me if you have any questions about Columbia.
