Hey guys, I'd really appreciate your suggestions.

What do you think my chances are at UPenn's Wharton?

SAT: 2250 (700CR 790M 760W)
SAT IIs: 800 bio e, 780 math IIC, 760 chem
GPA: 96.6
school doesn't rank

ECs:
Basketball team since freshman year
school newspaper since junior year
scientific research since middle of sophomore year, including full-time last summer and this summer, in laboratory alongside Ph.D. scientist
math team starting junior year
school honor society since junior year

Based on my stats, do you think I have an okay chance of getting into Wharton?
Also, would it be a bad idea to apply ED if I need a lot of financial aid? Will the school offer me less aid just b/c I'm an ED applicant? For what sorts of applicants is ED the best way to go -- the smartest or the wealthiest, or both?
thanks a lot!!!!!!!!!

You'd be a competitive applicant for Wharton, but be aware that even competitive applicants have no better than a 20% chance of being accepted. Make sure you apply to other B-schools as well. There's lots of good ones out there, most nowhere near as difficult to get into as Wharton.

first, do a financial aid calculator to have a ball park estimate of how much aid you should get. be warned, some aid calculators will be rigid and an extra few grand will reduce your aid greatly. ED lowers your aid because you have to go to the school, but if the aid is obviously insufficient, or for other reasons you cant afford to go to the school, i think there have been times where the person doesnt have to follow through with ED. have you taken an econ course, because that seems important if you are going into a business school. you probably have a great chance at Michigan business school and USC business school. good luck with wharton though, it is tough but if you get in you are on the right track to making alot of money.

Your stats are great and all but try describing various honors/awards you may have received while in those clubs. Anyone can join a club, but what sets you apart from others is what arduous endeavors you accomplish.
