Essay:
Talks about my high school loneliness and how I overcame it to become an academic and social role model for others.

Unhooked applicant.

I’m not sure how I should feel about this, since I’m an Asian male, and my ECs are almost all STEM, especially math related…and I play violin and piano. Even though the passion in math and science is clearly there, I can’t help but to think that I’m just going to be another stereotypical Asian applicant. Along with that, my test scores aren’t quite up to par.

What are your thoughts? Thanks.

Oh yeah, SAT IIs: Math 2 800, Chem 790 junior year and Math 1 720 sophomore year

GPA is good, try to get your ACT score up. I would agree that your EC’s are a bit ordinary but if you can show that you’re committed and showed leadership throughout your high school career, I don’t see why they would hurt your application. Overall, pretty fair shot of getting in. But it’s an ivy, so you can never be too sure.

Thanks for the feedback doglover. I’m only one point away from a 33, and I know a 34 or even 35 is very within reach based on my recent official practice test performance.

Anyone else have comments/suggestions?
