Chances at UPenn, Gtown, Columbia, etc.?

<p>Hey all! I'm currently a freaked out junior. </p>

<p>Race- Chinese
Considering: Brown, Columbia, Georgetown, UPenn, Dartmouth, Northwestern, and (unreachable) dream school is Princeton
-Legacy at Princeton [does this help?]</p>

<p>Competitive suburban public school, sends around 10 kids to ivies every year
GPA: weighted 4.25 [4.3=A in honors level classes]
SAT I: 2340 [might retake early next year, not sure if it's worth the effort]
SAT Subject Tests: 740 Bio, 780 World History
*Am taking the Lit, US History, and Chem tests this June, aiming for 750+ in history/chem and 730+ in Lit
Income: around 75k
AP tests: took World History soph year, got a 5. Just finished Chem, US History, English, and Government tests this year and still waiting for results [expecting 4-5s]<br>
Rank- not sure yet but maybe top 10-15</p>

<p>You have a good chance at Pton with legacy. Make sure you work hard and personalize your Pton app however.</p>

<p>You really don’t have much standing out other than that high SAT score. ECs are generic and don’t do much other than confirm over and over again that you fit the stereotypical Asian mold. These schools reject 2400 SAT students all the time. All the Ivy League schools seem to be out of your range - I don’t know how much legacy factor plays a role at Princeton, so can’t help you there.</p>

<p>If he’s a real legacy (parent attended as undergrad) he has a good shot.</p>

<p>You’re a pretty capable student, why aren’t you taking AP Physics C senior year? You should research & check it out, I think you should take it. It’s a great course for students who really want a challenge, only the best perform well in that class.</p>

<p>Yeah you have great stats, though your weighted GPA doesn’t help me too much. PRinceton legacy helps A LOT. It’s still a crapshot for EVERYone either way. But reaches for all of them, write essays tho</p>
