I attend one of the top public schools in the country (ranked in the top 50 nationally)
GPA: 3.85/4 UW (school doesn't weight, about a 92)
ACT: 33
SAT: didn't send
AP's: AP US (4), AP Psych, AP Micro, AP Macro, AP Calculus AB
Course Load: I have been in all honors math classes, taken most of the business classes the school offers, and I should've been in honors science classes, but my 8th grade teacher didn't recommend me, which put me in Regents classes.

EC's:
- Table Tennis League (Nationally rated table tennis player, member of USATT, played in multiple USATT sanctioned tournaments, youngest person in league, played since 8th grade, hoping this is unique enough to stand out since most people only view table tennis as a hobby)
- Sports Management Class with local soccer team (learned inner workings of sports teams, 4 month long class)
- Youth Group with church for a year
- Confirmation class with church (to prepare for my Confirmation)
- A few summer camps
- National Honor Society
- CYO Basketball (sophomore year)
(I'm worried I stretched some of the EC's and I don't really have any that stand out).

Work: I have been a cashier at Wegmans (grocery store) since after freshman year, and I'm in my 3rd year working there

Community Service: Participated in Relay For Life for 3 years

Awards:
- Monroe County Chemistry Award (sophomore year)
- Honor Roll (all 4 years of high school)

I'm worried that I don't have enough EC's to stand out among the other applicants, but I'd like to see what everyone else thinks. Thanks!

GPA and ACT are certainly low for a school like Wharton.
Try to step it up. I would say 34+ ACT and 3.9+ GPA. The fact that you’re applying RD also will hurt your chances.

Also, why are you only taking AB Calc? Wharton absolutely wants to see BC at minimum. Even if you took bc calc, many students come in with a multivariable calc class they took at HS.
Being a cashier instead of holding a meaningful internship position doesn’t help, and many Wharton admits were involved in athletics including lesser known sports like rugby, cricket and ping pong.

Definitely high reach imo. But if you’ve already written the essays then you may as well apply.

If you are URM (I don’t know if you are), then I would still say reach but not “high” reach

What’s URM? Also, I wasn’t allowed to take BC Calc as I was not reccomended for it after junior year, so AB was the only thing I could do. My math ACT was a 35 however, which I hope will help.

URM is under represented minority (your race)
Also, I don’t like chancing people, but I know that schools definitely take into consideration the options you have available at your school. I’m applying to Wharton too sigh
Good luck! :)

Yea my school is way up there in terms of American public schools (top 50) so I don’t know if that would hurt or help me

You’re just an average applicant aside from the table tennis thing. If you played that off well than probably better than average.

Yea I consider myself an average applicant but I’m hoping my 3 years of work experience and table tennis helps

i’m gonna call out @prakash568 for bull***** on having to take BC. i took AB my junior year and never took BC, yet i’m going to Wharton this fall.

if you want an honest opinion, your numbers and ECs aren’t that impressive. it would be a high reach. but you never know what could happen, so good luck!

Thanks! I know its a reach, but I have plenty of other schools to fall back on. I’m not expecting to get in by any means, but hopefully they see something in me that they like
