Technical/Light Crew (11)

+ I will pound out a glittering, SCINTILLATING essay for those people to read. Yes, I will.
+ Recs will be pretty awesome

Questions and Concerns

I know my ECs sound a bit off and my disorganized choice of camps reflect my personality in freshman and sophmore years, but now I am thoroughly convinced that I want to go to uPenn. I actually haven't considered any alternatives, which is...bad.

How much higher should I shoot for in the SATs? June will be my last chance to take it. Be mean to my SAT scores because in my school, that's an above average score...but that's just average to me.

What should my 3rd SAT II be?

Is my UW GPA too low?

Any other advice?

Thanks!

Nice ECs but your SAT score should be 2250+ good luck on retake :)

Also, gpa is a bummer, 3.72 puts you out of the A range.
You have a good shot, gl

A range? Do you mean on the A - E scale or do you mean A as in elite range?

Thanks!

heh. so be honest, UPenn is a reach.
I'd like to say that you are in, but those scores are low.
Work on your SAT and SATs. Too late to work on GPA.
Your GPA is also on the low side as well for wharton. Your ecs are a little lower than average for UPenn (still better than mine though :( unfortunately for me). Good luck.

Hrmm. Yea, I kind of slacked off fresh and soph year. I'm still kicking myself for that.

Well, I'm going to be doing the best I can with SATs and SAT IIs. Good luck to you too!

I was accepted to Wharton with stats below yours overall (1450, 5 AP's, not many EC's, I wrote a damn good essay though). In all honesty, there is no use worrying over this and trying to determine your chances. Also, if you do end up coming to Wharton, the most important piece of advice that I can give you is to remain calm and try to not get caught up in the whole "Wharton" mentality. This school is much more than an I-Banking/Private Equity factory.

To be honest with you I dont think you have a chance unless you are over the 2250 mark. Your ECs are just so average and Wharton is looking for the best of the best. I believe you would have a good chance at the CAS.

Take Physics SAT II, not Lit.

Thanks for the responses!

mfjackson: did you have anything over the top besides your essay? Legacy? From a obscure state? etc.? Thanks!

ballz053: Thank you for your honesty. I know my ECs are a bit lackluster and it would difficult for them to see how much they really do mean to me (I'm already planning what to write for my essays and they're not going to cover stuff in ECs) BUT are you saying that with a boost into the 2250+ that I'll have somewhat of a chance even with the same above stats?

Silver12065: Okay!
