Thanks.

you have a really good shot...but as in all ivies....no definite spot. keep up the good work and you may be in the class of 2010! lol. You have great ec's and gpa/sat scores. keep it up. don't stress..have plenty matches and safetie just in case.

You can major in Economics and still be pre-med. Penn makes it very easy (at least scheduling-wise) since so many potential pre-med courses can be used to satisfy the general education requirements. And your chances are very good. Apply ED and you have an excellent (re: 60%+) chance of getting in, as long as your essays and recs are good (these are important for Penn).

You sound like you have a pretty good shot...but be forewarned. I applied ED to Penn last year and was rejected FLAT OUT with a solid GPA, excellent EC's (yours sound great, but mine were very unusual), great test scores, fabulous essays, and what I imagine were good teacher recs. My friend who is even smarter than me (great recs, better GPA, and better score on the math portions of all the tests, and great ECs) was deferred and then rejected. I don't know why Penn became so popular out of the blue, but don't count on getting in...honestly, the amount of time I put into the Penn application could have been better spent researching and applying to REALISTIC schools. I can't even tell you this enough...EVERYONE thinks they are the one exception to getting into an Ivy, but the numbers speak for themselves. Almost NO ONE does. People think they are only weeding out the kids with a bunch of C's and B's, but honestly, the weed out process is throwing tons of people with GPAs like yours right out the window!

Be realistic about your chances and fall in love with schools you know you can get into.
