Hi MLD! Good taste in schools! UR is a great school. I have to preface my response with my standard disclaimer: I hate the whole concept of chancing. I understand why people want opinions, just don’t rely on strangers to either build up false hopes or dash dreams. I am not in the admin office. My experience is with my daughter who spent much of the past two years dreaming of going to UR and will start classes there in 10 days. She is thrilled!!

Anyway…your grades are there. Your Bio grade doesn’t look so great but all in all, you are well above average. Your SATs are a little low but they are solidly in the upper end of the middle 50%. The scores won’t eliminate you. If you were my daughter I would recommend taking the SAT one more time and taking the ACT. I believe UR prides itself on the diversity on campus. I think UR really wants to see an essay that sets you apart from everyone else. Really sell yourself. Admin will see a lot of scores like you. Your essay will make you different. Think of it as your job interview.

Good luck to you! Let us know what you decide to do! I don’t know what help I have been or what help I can be but feel free to post any questions. There are a couple really good people who watch this thread. Kellie is a current student and Spider05 is an alum. I’m sure they can help you much more than I.

I don’t typically like “chance” threads because of the same reasons as PA. That said, your measurables are definitely within what UR likes to see (definitely try to get your scores up, and UR will likely wonder why your grades slipped over the years and not a single AP “A”).

You’re unique with the age/skipping, so perhaps that’s your angle.

I don’t feel comfortable chancing, so just wanted to share my thoughts on what you offered up. Best of luck with your process and decision.
