Chances at US Air Force Academy?

Just submitted my pre-candidate questionnaire to the Air Academy and will not know whether I am a possible appointee or whatever it is until August. Please tell me my chances of making it through this first phase, and my chances of acceptance in the end. I am in between my junior and senior years of high school. Probably going to apply to the naval academy, too.

What are my chances?

Thank you!

I can’t guarantee anything, but I would say you have a very strong chance of making it past the preliminary stage. I had less than that an the Naval Academy advanced me. What you should be doing is start looking at recommendations from teachers and counselors and researching congressional nominations. Good luck!

Thanks a lot- you just made me a lot less nervous, but ill make sure not to use that as an excuse to ease off the throttle!

You’ll get in, in my opinion. The only thing I would advise you to do is to ONLY apply to the academy or academies you are interested in. Our daughter applied to all three, at the advice of one of the liasons and ended up with AFA, but her first choices were USMA or Naval Academy.

USAFA: Reach (but it’s reachable)
