Excellent chance at all UCs, Harvard, who knows?

your chance at harvard is not terrible. With your scores, i don't think you'll find too much trouble getting into UC's, including Berkeley.

BackToReality:

Assuming you are a California resident,

UCB: Match
UCLA: Match

USC: Match
Brandeis: Safety (?)
Bard: Safety (?)
Harvard: Reach

Thanks guys! If anyone else has an opinion I would be very appreciative, but I thanks to all the people that have so graciously given their opinions.

BackToReality

bump
Don't worry, I won't bump again, just wanted to see if any more suggestions would surface.

BackToReality

you have a very decent shot at Harvard, because of your SAT and class rank. Is it a challanging public school that might be known to the Harvard admissions office? If so, all the better. Otherwise I'd say its still a reach because your extracurriculars are good but not outstanding.

if you are in-state, you will definetly get into (either but not both) Berkeley or UCLA. If you are out of state you have a good shot at either, more likely UCLA, but they are still a slight reach. You chances at USC are very good.
Bard and brandeis are both safeties.

good list of colleges, and to echo what everyone else has been saying, you'll probably get into everything with harvard being the longshot. ultimately, i think you'll be satisfied with wherever you end up. ;)

What race are you?

Thanks again guys,

In answer to the questions, I'm about as white as they come, no minority status in me. My school is unfortunately (to the best of my knowledge) not known as a particularly tough public school.

So... just so all of y'all can see where I've ended up so far...

USC: Accepted, competing for President's Scholarship (which actually isn't so important for me because I got National Merit Finalist Standing, so they'll give me 1/2 tuition whether I get the President's on not)

UCLA: Umm... Regents Candidate (I assume that means I can be relatively sure of my acceptance).

UCB: Nothing so far...
Harvard: Nothing
Bard: Nothing
Brandeis: Nothing

Why the "either but not both" on UCLA/UCB?

BackToReality

if you're a regents candidate for UCLA... i could almost gaurantee that berkeley would accept you

often the UC system will accept students at only one of those two because they figure that is good enough.

Thanks, that's good to know. I'll try and post what happens up here. Thanks again to everybody that posted.
