Hey guys. I'm a sophomore at University of Rochester, eco/poli sci major. Here are my stats:

3.49 High school GPA, many AP classes
3.3 college GPA
SAT 800V 720M
National Merit Semifinalist
4's and 5's on AP tests in English, Calc BC, History, Biology
Asian
Probably medoicre prof recs, i havent really cultivated any good prof relationships.

The only real EC i do right now is an internship at Merril Lynch, about 22 hrs per week of work time, probably around 30 hrs total. That pretty much takes up most of my time.

I get a $10,000/yr scholarship for SAT scores and general academics and $2,000/yr for national merit here. Would other schools match my aid, or give me any at all for that matter?

Would by chances at any of these places be any good? My 1st choice would be UCLA (not likely, i know), followed by USC, UCSB, and then NYU. If anyone knows of any other good schools to transfer to, please let me know. I can't take any more of this horrible weather, ghetto city, and depressing social life. Thanks in advance everyone.

i heard the career center is beyond bad here, as is the alumnus network. Apparently people dont really hook up graduates for whatever reason. Plus i cant take the horrible weather and ghetto city. I read that USC is pretty good in business and has great alumni connections. Plus the social life and weather have to be better there. Am i misinformed? I dont really know anything about NYU other than the fact that its similarly ranked and i thought id stand a good chance of getting in. Thanks.

I can comment on USC living 3 miles away and can say that they do in fact have a great alumni network and the job opportunies/internships available here in los angeles are endless regardless of your major. The weather is really great prob. why I will decide to stay in state its like their brochure states where else can you surf and snowboard on the same day?
