Freshman year i had mostly A's but as a sophomore I got 2 C's and my grades as a junior are pretty low. This is with three AP classes, though, and by the time I graduate I'm hoping to have five total AP classes. I'm hoping my stats when I graduate will be this:
3.4 UW
2300 SAT
35 ACT
What are my chances of getting into USC with great first and last years, but disappointing middle years?

What about your EC’s? Your test scores are great! Your GPA is a little bit lower than USC’s average, but if you been involved in EC’s and had leaderships experience, it should make up for your lower than average GPA. BTW, I’m applying to USC too, but my test scores are no way near your scores. lol Good luck! :D

I’ve been in mock trial for two years and model u.n. for one. I’ve done martial arts for almost six years, earning my second degree black belt last year as well as instructing as a part-time job 7 hours a week. I’ve also started a dodgeball league at my school, which is now the most popular “club” in the school (about 70/200 students, plus some teachers)

What’s your class rank?

If you want accurate data can you please take the god damn time to type out your entire resume? Otherwise you’re not gonna get answerrss.

Class rank around 19/50 in an accelerated science-based school. The top ten or so have taken many APs and are taking multiple college courses

USC: High match

Send both SAT and ACT because they are crazy high. You need to get that GPA up because you are not even in the top 30%. Everything is fine but I think your GPA will be a problem for the admission team. Show an upward trend. Get all A’s your Junior year and first semester of your senior year.

http://www.usc.edu/admission/undergraduate/private/1213/USCFreshmanProfile2012.pdf

Even though your scores are well above average your GPA is well below the average. Given that the admit rate for USC will likely fall below 20% this year, I think you need to treat it as one of your reach schools.

Right now I’m looking at USC, UNC, and probably either UW or UO. Are my chances higher for the other three schools (not USC)

I think UNC is a reach as well, especially if your out-of-state. UW? Washington? Wisconsin? UO - Oregon?

UNC OOS: Reach
UWA: Low match (if you can get the UW at 3.6+ then it becomes a safety)
UWI: Low match (see UWA above)
UO: Safety
