Chances at USF FSU & UCF???? PLEASE HELP!!!

I really wanted to go to UF but ive come to the conclusion that its out of my reach. Here are my stats. I have a 2.66 UW GPA and a 3.78 W gpa (because im in the IB Program) the first time i took the SAT i got an 1110.(reading + math). Broken down i got a 620 math, 490 reading, and a 500 writing. I took it again this month and am waiting for scores to come back.I played varsity lacrosse junior year and play to play this year, volunteered at local hospitals, an Vice president of the club Children Beyond Our Borders (have more extra curr. and volunteer hours) Was wondering what my chances were for these schools. I am really looking at USF and am hoping i get in.

Just a side note. So i wanted to get into UF, but my stats dont say much about me. The one thing i have going for me is that My brother attended UF for Undergrad and masters, both my cousins did the same thing, and my uncle (their father) was a well know professor at UF. Chances?

Kids get into UF with your grades. If you want to go there, apply.

You actually have a high chance at being accepted at UF, usually you have to add in your application if any family members attended that university, maybe that’s a bonus (many people have their on beliefs on whether having relatives actually helps them get in easier).
I think you should apply to UF, you just never know what the admissions team are looking for…

A 2.6 unweighted and a 490 in CR has to change for you to be admitted to FSU UF OR UCF. What is your facts.org GPA? All that matters to UF and FSU is your GPA in core courses, ie math, english, science, social studies and language. They factor in few other courses. They weight 0.5 for honors/pre IB and 1 for IB/AP/DE so your school weighting has no bearing, and with an unweighted GPA of 2.6 you cannot have a true FSU/UF GPA of any higher than 3.6 and that is only if EVERY COURSE WAS IB not pre-IB.

You need to recalc your GPA, the one that matters’ and repost after new scores. FSU will not even consider ANY application with a CR under 500.

This is the only GPA that matters.

Yeah, sunny is correct. You almost have no chance of getting in UF. People at my school were denied with close to a 4.0 recalculated GPA with 1200’s!

I also agree that you have no chance for FSU, slim for UCF but still apply.

Maybe look at UNF, FAU and FGCU.

Good luck!

I understand that my gpa is really low and that my verbal and writing really needs to be bumped up. I want to go to UF but i know its not realistic anymore so even though i am still going to apply, i am not going to be “hurt” if i get a rejection letter. Is it really that hard to get into FSU and UCF? (not my top choices but definitely an option) If its not UF for me i want to get into USF. (my #2) what are my chances for USF.

Looking at the stats for UCF and USF ************** and they dont look that high.
It says that 11% had between a 2.5-2.99 gpa. My UW is that but they are going to recalculate it so even though it wont be the full 1.1 weight, it will be close to it. comments?

Sunny, so i recalculated my gpa based on the 1 and 0.5 weight and it came out to 3.3. This is kind of depressing… Im really hoping i can get into USF at this point, really dont want to go to UNF and FAU even though i am applying there also. Anything will help guys, thanks.
