Chances at USF?

I have a 3.78 unweighted GPA
4.2 weighted GPA
24 on the ACT
3 years of Spanish
8 completed college courses
3.47 college GPA
2 completed AP classes
Almost all honors courses
Do I have a good chance of being accepted?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

You seem to be a good candidate, especially for merit aid!

Do you think my ACT scores are too low?

If you are applying from high school with dual-enrollment college coursework you should be in good shape. USF likes high GPAs more than high SAT and ACT scores. If your classwork included sciences like biology, chemistry, and physics; and if you have at least 3 math courses including algebra, geometry, pre-calculus, or calc…you’ll likely be accepted at USF.

If you are already a college student with 8 college courses applying as a transfer…USF might want you to complete more coursework at your present college before accepting you. USF, like most colleges, doesn’t like jumpers from other colleges after only taking a few courses at their present colleges. USF takes tons of transfers from other colleges who have at least two years of undergraduate studies already completed, or an AA, before transferring to USF.

Good luck!

Thanks Lizard!
I am actually a high school senior. I have taken biology, chemistry, dual enrolled for basic anatomy and physiology, and I am in physics right now. For math I have taken algebra 1, geometry, intermediate algebra, college algebra, and pre calculus.

You are most likely to get accepted, however you will most likely not get any merit aid because of your low ACT score. Do your GPA justice and try to raise your ACT score.

I do not know much about this school (it’s University of South Florida, right?), but I think the dual enrollment will definitely help. And if you want to determine if your ACT score is in range (I don’t know what the average SAT score for this school is, sorry!), just go to collegenavigator.com, find your school, and it will tell you what the 25th and 75th percentiles are. Good Luck! And thank you for chancing me!

Thanks for the advice everyone! :)
