Chances at UT Austin Engineering Honors Program?

<p>Hi everyone and thanks for entering this thread! I'm a Texas Resident looking at the UT engineering honors program. I'm not sure how my chances are of getting in, but I'd say it's definitely not a reach. Probably not a safety either though. Any opinions are welcome.</p>

<p>Here are my stats: </p>

<p>courseload:
IB HL Math
IB HL Biology
IB HL Literature
IB HL History
IB SL French
IB SL Physics</p>

<p>average: 94.04, school doesn't rank but unofficially 4th out of 61
note: my school doesn't offer HL physics, or else I'd be taking that</p>

<p>scores
ACT 34 composite (34 english 35 math 33 reading 32 science 31 combined english/writing)
sat math lvl2 800
sat physics 790
sat biology 730</p>

<p>ec's
varsity cross country, varsity outdoor track, varsity soccer (not good enough to really make a difference in any of them though)
jazz band
professional Greek folk dancer
peer tutor in physics</p>

<p>essays aren't anything special but decent enough. </p>

<p>You’re definitely into the engineering school, and I’d say that you have as good of a shot at the honors program as anyone. </p>

<p>The honors program is really difficult to get into, but I’d definitely say you have a very good shot.</p>

<p>also, after applying I got a 2340 in the SAT (780 M 760 CR 800 W), but I haven’t submitted it yet. is it worth it to submit it now?</p>

<p>another bump. got into the school of mechanical engineering. still wondering about honors, since I’ve heard of kids with 1590/1600 SATs not getting in.</p>

<p>You should submit it. High scores can make a difference for honors programs and 2340 equates to a 35 ACT.</p>
