Hey, UT Business is probably my ultimate school that I want to go to. I know it's really competitive, so I just want an estimate of my chances. I put communications down as my second choice, so I might do that if I get accepted into Communications but not Business.

National Merit Semi Finalist

Also, for National Merit Semi Finalist, I didn't list that on my Texas Commons App, so what should I do about that? I sent in my Texas Commons App like weeks ago, around the same time NMSF were announced. Thanks.

Send in that extra piece of information. Tell them that you are because it may just help.

You're definitely getting in. I don't even know why you're worrying. As long as your essays weren't completely offshoot and unrelated, then you're in. and fyi, they are NOT looking at your writing score. so according to your scores, your highest score is a 1450. that is very good. so, again, i can bet that you'll get in. i'd be surprised if you didn't. good luck.

Fax admissions with the additional info about NMSF. You are an auto-admit to UT in general, but admissions to the business school is highly competitive....so keep them updated on your NM status. It could help.

Also, UT offers $13,000 over 4 years to NM Finalists.

Thanks. In addition to an resume, I did send them a copy of the letter a received when I was notified as a Semifinalist. However, on the Texas Commons Application, I marked 'no' in the box asking if I would later send in a resume. How will I know if they received it?

well, they should still receive your letter. nonetheless, you should call them and confirm, telling them that you are sending in an extra piece of information.
