Chances at UT Cockrell School of Engineering?

Hi! As I’ve been finishing up my application for the Cockrell School of Engineering, I’ve started to worry about whether or not I will get accepted (it’s my top choice). I am applying to be an Aerospace Engineering major, if that makes any difference.

I am a Texas resident (always have been)
I scored a 2030 on the SAT (1370 combined reading and math)
A 33 on the ACT (35 writing, 34 math, 30 reading, 33 science)
I am currently ranked 29 out of 542 at a 6A high school (all A’s as of my second semester junior year)

AP Classes: Human Geo. (4), World History (5), U.S. History (4), English Lang. (5), Chemistry (4), and Physics 1 (5).
I am currently taking AP Physics C: Mechanics, Calculus AB, Government/Microeconomics, and English Lit.

Extracurricular stuff: I’m in band (section leader junior year, brass captain this year), NHS, and a member of my school’s Science Olympiad team. I also do a lot of volunteer work every year in organizations such as Reach, Generation One, etc.

That’s about all I could think of at the moment of writing this, so what do you think? What are my chances for Aerospace at the Cockrell School of Engineering? Any input is greatly appreciated, and thanks in advance!

It might help to mention my GPA… My school is on a 5.0 scale, up to a 6.25 if you were somehow able to take all AP classes starting your freshman year and get all 100’s (I don’t think you can). My GPA is a 5.35 (funny because I’m in the top 5.35%).

I think your chances are good. You will get an automatic admit then it is up to the engineering school.

What’s up? I was admitted into Aerospace Engineering at Cockrell for Fall 2015. My SAT was 1450 Composite and I took Math Level 2 subject test which I received a 790 on. looking at your stats I think you will be fine IF you are a TEXAS resident. otherwise, it maybe very difficult.
