Hello, I am just wondering. What are my chances to get into UT Dallas Engineering, specifically Electrical Engineering? I am currently a high school senior in state.

New SAT: 1200 (560 ERW, 640 Math)

Rank: 15/130

GPA: 3.92 UW, 4.18 W

8 AP Classes: AP Human Geo, AP World History, AP Chem, AP Physics 1, AP Physics 2, AP Calculus AB, AP US History, AP Spanish Language and Culture

Extracurriculars and Achievements:
-Play at least 10 hours a week of soccer competitively (USSDA Member) and travel constantly where I have gotten personal achievements such as being invited to state and national wide combines.

-Went to Samsung Mobile APP Academy

-Student of the Year (Junior Year)

  • Distinguished Honor Roll

-State Cup Champion (Soccer)

-Regional Finalist (Soccer)

-First Tech Challenge member (Robotics Team)

-Senior Class of 2017 officer

Etc.

You qualify for auto admit so you can get into the school for sure. Engineering is another matter though. You’re somewhere around UTD’s median right now for SAT, which usually isn’t quite enough since engineering is one of the more competitive majors. It would be much better if you had time to retake but I’m guessing that isn’t very likely.
