<p>It actually depends on the school.</p>
<p>Both AP courses are composition courses. One is AP English Literature and Composition, and one is AP English Language and Composition. Lang is based on rhetoric and essays and such, while Lit is based on writing about and interpreting passages of literature.</p>
<p>At my school, Lit is English 3 AP and Lang is English 4 AP.</p>
<p>And because of the way UT structures the credit, you don’t need to take the Language exam if you get 600+ on SAT writing, it covers the same credit.</p>
