Chances at UVA and VT Engineering

<p>I have looked up different statistics for both schools, but would like to get other people's opinions of my chances. I know certain majors (engineering) require higher scores since it is a lot more competitive. </p>

<p>Planning on applying UVA EA and VT RD for Fall 2015...biomedical or chemical engineering for UVA, biological systems or chemical engineering for VT</p>

<p>Asian Female from Northern Virginia</p>

<p>GPA: 4.32 Weighted, 3.93 Unweighted (All A's and a few A-'s)</p>

<p>Classes: Rigorous courses compared to others (650-700 students in my class)...school does not rank but definitely in top 5 or 10% of my class
-9th grade: Algebra 2 Honors, Biology Honors, World History 1 Honors
-10th grade: Pre-Calculus Honors, Chemistry Honors, World History 2 Honors, English 10 Honors
-11th grade: AP Calculus AB, AP Chemistry, AP Language/Comp, AP Micro/Macro, Physics Honors, US History Honors
-12th grade: AP Calculus BC, AP Statistics, AP Biology, AP Physics 2, English 12 Honors, US Government Honors, Human Anatomy & Physiology (not weighted, but considered rigorous course)</p>

<p>Testing (I know my reading/writing scores are kind of low and need to be improved):
-SAT: 1900 (CR-560, M-730, W-610)...will retake one more time in October
-SAT 2: Chemistry (740) and Math 2 (720)
-ACT: 29 (E-28, M-36, R-25, S-27)...will retake one more time in September</p>

<p>Extracurriculars:
-Member of National Honor Society, Math Honor Society, Key Club, Future Business Leaders of America, Student Ambassadors
-Officer for Do Something Club
-Vice President of Doctors of Tomorrow
-Student Representative for Parent Teacher Student Association
-Volunteer at Hospital (150+ hours) and Library (50+ hours)
-Work as a summer camp counselor, assistant teacher/tutor

UVA - high match with improved test scores!</p>
