What are my chances of getting into UW Madison (reach/match/safety)? What should I improve? Please let me know!! Thanks!
Never doubt yourself- always be confident! Your credentials look pretty awesome as well as a good ACT score. There’s no way to say if you have a GOOD chance, but you definitely have a chance. Good luck! Believe in yourself.
I think that you have a very good chance of getting in! Congratulations on your achievements so far. They truly are commendable. The only thing that I can see holding you back would probably be the ACT score, but even then, it is already a very good score!
From my school, a good friend was postponed with a 32 ACT and 3.4 UW GPA, and another friend was denied with 31 ACT and 3.3 UW GPA. A girl was accepted with a 29 ACT and 3.8 UW GPA. UW Madison runs in my family as well. I would say you are a high match.
Isn’t it too late to improve anything? High match based on the results I’ve seen from my family and friends (in northern Illinois as well). I have seen about 20 students apply. I should also add that my cousin with a 31 ACT was postponed and eventually accepted. I make this determination based on your GPA mostly. I would say your chances are probably 60-70%. I translate that to high match.
you got pretty nice credentials, I’d say you are most likely in. If you want to make it a better shot, aim for a higher ACT score and study over the summer (but really, 31 is fine). Good luck!
