Chances at UW, UVA, etc

As far as ethnicity I'm a caucasian male.

SAT CR: 750
SAT Math: 690
SAT Writing: 590 (plan on retaking in October)
Combined: 2030

Taking ACT in October.

Possibly taking SAT 2 (Math 2, US History) in November. (Should I?)
GPA: 4.0 UW / 4.0 W

AP Language & Comp: 4

ECs:
Varsity Golf
Knowledge Bowl
FBLA
(competed @ state level in above)
FRC FIRST Robotics
Technology Club (4 members last year)
Was a class officer last year (doesn't mean much at a small school, also was officer in clubs)
The last two summers I have worked at a nearby engineering company. This summer I did some Research and Development type work.

Some things to note about me: I go to a very small public school in a small, rural town. There are around 50 students in my graduating class. As far as class ranking, I don't think my school ranks, probably because there aren't enough students for that to be necessary. But unofficially I'm tied for first :) Also, my school offers 2 AP classes, Language & Comp. and Literature. Another thing to note is that I am from a single parent home.

Colleges:
UVA
University of Washington (in-state)
Lewis & Clark College
Whitman College
Evergreen College
UC Berkeley
UC Santa Barbara
Stanford (worth the application fee?)

Still working on list of schools to apply to. Some advice would be great on that. UVA is basically my top choice, I have alumni relations there also.

I feel like I'm counting on at least getting in at UW.

What are your preferences for size, location, major etc. The schools you’ve listed are big, small, suburban, urban and rural, quite a mix of types. Why is UVA attractive to you? Why did you put the LACs on you list? Is financial aid important to you?

I realize the schools are pretty mixed up. The schools are mostly based on geographic location. I would like to be on the West Coast or potentially the East Coast although I’m on the West now. I’m going to repost this in the college search area since in hindsight it seems more appropriate to my needs.

UVA- you have a chance, but your SAT score needs to be higher (writing in particular). As you said, you’re retaking it. Does UVA superscore?
UW- you are in.
Lewis and Clark- match
Whitman- very hard to get into, but I think you can do it
Evergreen- in no question
UCB- probably a reach, get 2200 plus on the SAT
UCSB- good chance
Stanford- reach, but apply anyways. You may get rejected from UVA, but get into Stanford, so just see what happens.

I lived in WA State for a few years, so that’s how I know about these schools. Out of curiosity, which sort of region in WA State do you live in?

I believe UVa does take your best score in each category. I live in the East part of the state.
