I really like the Human Organizational Development major at Vandy, should I apply ED II though considering I have never visited. I know my weakest point is class rank so thats why I am so nervous. Thanks for your help.

Also applying to:
U of Delaware honors
Notre Dame
Boston College
Cornell
Emory
and Brandeis

EDII without visiting is tricky. I think you have a pretty solid shot with ED and your stats, because though my SAT is higher than yours, your gpa is a few points higher (I was 3.68 uw 3.98 w; rigorous AP schedule though and a death in the family lead to my poor sophomore grades), and I just received my Acceptance Letter last friday. If you can pull together a hook for yourself (think about connecting your Business with their human development program), I think you have a solid shot of getting in. Contact your regional rep, tell them that you cannot visit because of financial issues (or some other reason) but you still are in love with Vandy and want to EDII and see what they say.
I think you have a good shot, but make sure you truly LOVE Vandy before you commit to this. I fell in love the moment I walked on campus, and I know most kids who visited felt the same, but its different for every person. Do some more research before committing, but otherwise, I think you’d have a solid shot.

I like the well rounded-ness in terms of selectivity issues of your list. You are not a shoe in for Vanderbilt, but few people are, so your list looks balanced.
The most important aspect of your application will be references/essays now. If I were you, I would read up on HOD and resubmit essays for Vandy and your other colleges that are freshened up and relevant to each college individually.
Chances are impossible to predict but they are better in ED II than in RD. Vandy has better need financial aid that your other colleges on that list so if that matters to you…make a BIG effort to apply Vandy. Our son had never seen Vandy and visited Martin Luther King holiday weekend in January after his applications were in. He liked it so much more than he realized he would. He wrote an update to his regional officer after that visit. Got in with $. Times were easier three seasons ago though

You have pretty good EC’s, but your other stats are a bit lacking. Although Vandy it seems really doesn’t care too much about stats this year based off the ED acceptances. As far as ED is concerned, unless you’re in love with Vandy, don’t ED II.

Submitted my app for RD just because I’m not sure how finances will come out, along with never having visited. Nothing I can do now but work on that mid-year report I suppose?

Yeah, good luck. Show them that upward trend is still going.
