OOS for all three schools

GSW, if you are going to give make posts on other people's chance threads, please put some actual thought and input in instead of just using it as an excuse to get your thread chanced back.

Anyway, I think you have a solid chance at all three schools, probably in at UVA and Davidson, but Vanderbilt will be a bit tough (30-50%) because I feel your ECs are slightly week.

I do agree with you on the EC weakness. I did do debate extensively, have volunteer hours, and feel rounded out with the #3 varsity tennis ranking & most dedicated award, but I know that others' ECs are 10x more powerful.

Your stats and your Ec's are fine....You scored higher on reading and math, then 75 percent of the kids at Vanderbilt........You will probably get into all 3, if your essays are good.........good luck!

I feel like a silly bumper.
My top choice school is UVa, so I am particularly interested in any chances anyone can offer for that school. Thanks!

Its tough to predict OOS admissions at UVA. You have a good shot but when we visited we were told they receive more applications for OOS than IN state and they are required to take a fairly high percentage of in-state kids not leaving many spaces for OOS. Its not as difficult as UNC-CH but still the numbers are against you. Don't know much about Davidson. Vanderbilt looks good but like the previous poster said they do emphasize ECs alot. Good luck.
