Columbia, UChicago: High Reach (You do have something different, but you are academically just not at that level, and you are a dime a dozen compared to int’ls.)
John Hopkins, Northwestern, Georgetown: Low reach
NYU, Brandeis, WashU, Boston College, Barnard: High match

Chance back?

I think you may be confusing test scores with academics.

I have straight A’s for all four years of high school at a private school and take all the advanced classes I can.

What type of test score do you think I would need for the reach schools to become more realistic?

RE: academically

That might not have been what I meant, but I think that because I didn’t see anything about coursework I misinterpreted some things.

What IB, AP, college-level or GCA-advanced level classes have you taken?

My school doesn’t offer IB or AP courses so I can’t take them (but also, because they are not offered, this cannot hurt me)

Whenever an advanced class has been offered (except for math) I have taken it. At my school, some subjects (for example lit and history) do not offer advanced classes every year.
COURSEWORK:
Science: 4 years (Foundation of Science class, Chem(A), Bio(A), Physics(A))
Math: 4 years (Geometry, Algebra II, Precalc, Calc(A))
Language: 4 years Spanish (Spanish 3A, Spanish Lit IA, Spanish lit IIA) 2 years French (French 1,2A)
Art: 1 year (Studio Art)
History: 3 years (Global History, American History, Modern European HistoryA)
Literature: 4 years (Lit I, Lit II, American Lit, 20th Century lit)

Columbia (ED)- reach (it’s doable though, but just not highly likely)
WashU- low reach (reach if you weren’t a legacy)
Johns Hopkins- low reach/reach
NYU- low match/ match
Barnard-???
Boston College- low match
Brandeis-???
GW- low match
Georgetown- high match/low reach
Northwestern- low reach
University of Chicago- low reach/reach

You have a solid assortment of colleges with a wide variety of selectivities. So long as you write solid essays, I don’t see any reason why you couldn’t get into a school like Hopkins, NU, or Georgetown. However, Columbia may be too much of a stretch. Applying ED to a comparatively less selective ivy would be more plausible. Good luck!

If you could chance me back, I’d be really appreciative…

Chance back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1508365-wharton-cornell-ed-others.html</a></p>

I think you have a good chance especially with your good scores but also with your language related accomplishments. Just make sure your essay is great because a lot of people wih great scores get rejected because of bland essays. Good luck! Also remember its a crapshoot but you have as decent a chance as anyone. Barnard-it’s a match!
Boston College-not sure
Brandeis-no idea, sorry
GW-match!
Georgetown- perfect match, I have personal experience with this one!

I apologize for my chance thread being so lengthy, but I was new when I started it, and didn’t know to keep things pithy.

thanks everyone!

Your extracurriculars are amazing, although I’d retake your SAT one more time to see if you can pull your Math section above a 700. It looks a bit bad that it’s below 700. That’s probably going to be the only factor that will decrease your chances. Good luck though!!

Chance me?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1509606-please-chance-me-nyu-uci-ucla-ucb-ucd-ucsd-will-chance-back.html</a></p>

Columbia (ED)- reach (all the Ivies are, and you don’t have anything particularly special to offer)
WashU-Low Reach because of legacy status
Johns Hopkins-Low Reach
NYU-Low Match/High Safety
Barnard-Match
Boston College-High Match
Brandeis-Low Match
Georgetown- Low Reach
Northwestern-Reach
University of Chicago-Reach

There’s nothing “wrong” with your app, it’s just a little bland. Either than going to Russia (was that a trip based on having the finances to go, or did you need to earn it academically?), there’s nothing unique to set your app apart.
