Chances at various universities (top tier and others)

Could you guys give me chances like this?:
high reach, reach, low reach, high match, match, low match, safety
Thank you!

Objective:

* SAT I (breakdown): CR(690) Writing(680) Math(700) 2070 overall. Retaking in December for 2200+. I have been scoring around 2150 on practice tests so hopefully with more practice I can break 2200 by the December test!
* ACT: n/a
* SAT II: Chem(730) USH(740) Math II(just took, hopefully 700+)
* Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0): 3.705 (yikes!)
* Rank (percentile if rank is unavailable): top 25% (weighted gpa would be top 10% but school doesn't do weighted)
* AP (place score in parenthesis): USH(5) Calc AB(4) Chem(4) Stat(4) Yeah I know I bombed these...don't know what happened on stats and calc...
* Senior Year Course Load: Four AP's. I am also self-studying Macro and Micro Econ for the AP tests in May. I am reading Mankiw's book and supplementing with PR (I covered micro over the summer already, though). Should I mention this on my apps?
* Major Awards (USAMO, Intel etc.): AP Scholar with Honor, 3rd place in DECA Area competition

Subjective:

* Extracurriculars: Founder and President of Key Club in 11th grade (now Lieutenant Governor) DECA member and state competitor, XC varsity, Science Honor Society Co-President, Robotics programming captain, Math Honor Society member. My EC's may seem scattered but everything truly comes together in my essays.
* Job/Work Experience: Intern at Applied Physics Lab at UW in 2009 (researched sonochemistry; relates directly to my prospective major/career; supplement essays for most of the schools are about this and how it relates to my career/academic interests). Intern with political campaign this past summer (Republican!)
* Volunteer/Community service: probably 200 hours total
* Summer Activities: NYLF Med (learned that I don't want to go into medicine, lol), running 50 miles a week for XC
* Essays: Phenomenal for all of them (so I've heard from peers and adults)
* Teacher Recommendation: great
* Counselor Rec: good
* Additional Rec: excellent (from political figure)

Other:

* State (if domestic applicant): WA
* Country (if international applicant): USA
* School Type: Public
* Ethnicity: Caucasian
* Gender: Male
* Income Bracket: ~150k
* Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): none?

General Comments:

I am applying/have applied to:
USC (Viterbi (ChemE with Environmental Emphasis) with Marshall Business School as second-choice major)
UW (ChemE) - Can I consider this a safety?
CMU (CIT and Tepper) my supplement essay is exceptional, very specific with CMU and showed strong interest in both CIT and Tepper
Penn ED (Jerome Fisher Program w/ Wharton as back-up) - I know this is a super reach..hoping for deferral. My essays for the supplement and program, however, were absolutely KILLER. Indicated a VERY strong interest in Penn and the program and how they suited my needs.
WashU (marked Engineering/Business dual degree as my academic interest in the supplement)
NYU (Stern, Finance)
UChicago (Economics)
MIT (ChemE) I know this is way out of my reach as well. I am applying because I know that if I do, I have some chance; if I don't apply, I have a 0% chance.
Rose-Hulman (ChemE) Still unsure if I will actually apply here...

I definitely feel like I won't get in anywhere except for UW (this is where EVERYONE goes from my high school)

Thank you for reading all of this!!! Any comments are appreciated :)

they are all probably low low reaches so I would strongly suggest a safety school. chance me back http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1033113-chance-me-ill-chance-you-back.html</a></p>

UW seems like a safe bet, but it’s always good have a real backup where you can be sure. However, your ECs are really good, essay counts more than any of us can judge, and your GPA isn’t really that bad. So, while many of them may be reaches, I’d rank them in this order from lowest to highest reach.

USC
WUSTL
CMU
NYU
Penn ED
UChicago
MIT

Your SATs are probably your weakest point, I’d say, but you have a chance at all of these schools.

MIT - High Reach
Penn - High Reach
Wash U - Reach
CMU - Reach
Univ. of Chicago - Reach
NYU - Low Reach
USC - Match
UofW - Match
Rose Hulman - Safety

Do you need a financial safety? If so, I would at Washington State Univ.

I might apply to WSU as an extra safety. I would be mortified if I didn’t get in anywhere…

I will chance back, btw!

MIT - Reach
Penn - Low Reach (great shot, just can be so random!)
Wash U - Low Reach
CMU - High Match
Univ. of Chicago - Reach
NYU - High Match
USC - Low Match
UofW - Low Match/In
Rose Hulman - Safety

You are competitive even for the top schools! :)

USC (Viterbi (ChemE with Environmental Emphasis) - high match
UW (ChemE) - in
CMU (CIT and Tepper) - low reach
Penn ED (Jerome Fisher Program w/ Wharton as back-up) - reach
WashU - low reach
NYU (Stern, Finance) - reach
UChicago - reach
MIT (ChemE) - high reach
Rose-Hulman (ChemE) - match

MIT - HIGH Reach
Penn - Reach
Wash U - Match
CMU - Reach
Univ. of Chicago - Reach
NYU - High Match
USC - Low Match
UofW - Low Match/In
Rose Hulman - Safety

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1033907-need-revenge-plz-help.html</a></p>

USC (Viterbi (ChemE with Environmental Emphasis) with Marshall Business School as second-choice major)
UW (ChemE) - Safety
CMU -high match
Penn ED (Jerome Fisher Program w/ Wharton as back-up) - reach
WashU -match
NYU (Stern, Finance)-high match
UChicago (Economics)-reach(1390 is in 25%)
MIT (ChemE)-no real chance
Sorry for being harsh, but college apps are so competitive nowadays. l

MIT - High Reach
Penn - reach
Wash U - low reach
CMU - low reach
Univ. of Chicago - high reach
NYU - match
USC - low reach
UofW - high match
Rose Hulman - Safety

MIT - High reach
Penn - High reach
Wash U - Mid reach
CMU - Low reach
Univ. of Chicago - High reach
NYU - High match
USC - High match/Low reach
UofW - Safety
Rose Hulman - Match

There’s a difference between a 2070 SAT score and a 2200. I am basing this off of a projected score of 2150. If you get a 2200, re-post this with the updated score. Your decile rank hurts your chances at your top schools. USC can NOT be considered a “low match”, as some posters suggest! Nice EC’s and leadership.

MIT - Pretty tough, but that’s everyone…
Penn - Also pretty tough
Wash U - Moderate
CMU - Tough call
Univ. of Chicago - Moderate
NYU - Stern is tough, but good shot
USC - Good Shot
UofW - Good Shot
Rose Hulman - Not sure

MIT - high reach
Penn - reach
WashU - reach
Univ. of Chicago - reach
CMU - low reach
NYU - low reach/high match

I think you’ll be fine at everything, except MIT will be a high reach, and UC Chicago a high match or low reach.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1033866-chancing-people-who-post-here-d.html</a></p>

MIT - High Reach, IVY aren’t they all … lol
Penn - High Reach, Same
Wash U - low Reach
CMU - low Reach
Univ. of Chicago - low Reach
NYU - Low Reach
USC - Match
UofW - Match
Rose Hulman - Accepted

MIT’s not an Ivy.

I would say match to low reach in all… except MIT an upenn… bit of a high reach if you dont get 2150+

I think your chances are a lot higher at upenn since your going ED

:D

MIT - high reach
Penn - high reach (If SAT becomes 2200, you’re chances will greatly increase)
Wash U - match
CMU - Reach
Univ. of Chicago - Reach
NYU - Low Reach
USC-low reach
UofW - high match
Rose Hulman - safety

Ranking plays a big factor which is why most of these are reaches, if you improve your SAT even to 2200, some of these will still be reaches

MIT - High Reach
Penn - High Reach
Wash U - Low reach
Univ. of Chicago - Reach
NYU - High Match
USC - Match
UofW - Match
Rose Hulman - Safety

I think it’s definitely worth applying to all of those!
