<p>Your chance is as good as anyone’s. The extracurricular music will certainly help here at Vassar, but err on the side of caution with supplemental recommendations. Unless you truly think your band director can clarify more than your musical experience already does, it’s a risk to clutter your application with more paper.</p>

<p>Your academic stats are good, but you didn’t mention AP classes. Without 3 or 4, I’d say it’s a reach. And an extra recommendation is fine, but limit yourself to three total- so two from school.</p>
