VA Tech ED: Low match

I’m really sorry, what does low match mean?

From what I’ve gathered, low match means your chances of getting in are nearly safe (100%) or definite. It confused me for awhile, too!

If you don’t mind me asking, what about BIT do you find interesting or promising? I recently posted a thread on applying ED for Engineering a few days ago but that was until another member of CC brought up the idea of Business IT, which I’d never heard of and have spent the last 2 hours researching when I should be getting ready for school haha.

Catria is a frequent poster and has obviously been on this forum a long time. I don’t have any idea what his/her experience or qualifications might be. “Low Match” means “kinda, maybe.”

I’m just a parent and a resident of VA. VA Tech admitted a ton of fairly average students from our county high school for class of '17. I heard that 12% were admitted to JMU. Radford was always the nearby school that those that didn’t get into Tech could be sure to accepted to. You have great grades but your SATs could be higher. You should apply early decision and take the next SAT you can take (November?) and send them those scores. I bet your scores go up quite a bit. You have a better chance getting in ED so go for it. The way other schools set deadlines means you should also continue to work on your applications for safety schools. I think you sound like a great candidate, though. Make sure your essays reflect your personality. Good luck! I would love to hear if you succeed.

Osprey: Thank you so much for your support! About the SAT, I’ve already taken it twice and only went up by 30 points the second time:P I’m still well within their range though, so I decided not to take it again for the sake of money and time. If I get in, I will post on this thread!

hokiehannah: I decided business information technology was right for me because I’ve always been a pretty business-savvy person, but I really like math and logistics as well. I knew that engineering wouldn’t be my cup of tea because I just don’t have the right learning style or mindset for it, but BIT is perfect. I also really like the Operations and Supply Chain Management track at Virginia Tech. I’m hoping to go into the DEA and become an Intelligence Research Analyst, so this major is just what I need. I hope we both get in! Good luck!
