Chances at Virginia Tech (VT)?

If anyone could help me evaluate my chance at Virginia Tech, it'd be greatly appreciated; I'm considering this as one of my top choices.

Male, In-state

Applied to Business School, undecided

SAT: 1240 (590 Verbal 640 Math)
SAT 2's: 620 Math IC 690 Writing

GPA: 3.6 unweighted (3.625 weighted)

3.93 uneighted GPA for 1st semester senior year

3 AP's this year, 1 last year, honors courses throughout high school

Great Business and Leadership EC's

Completed the optional essays

Accepted already at: Penn State University Park, James Madison University, and University of Pittsburgh

Thanks in advance guys

In my opnion you have a GOOD chance of getting in to VT. A LOT kids with less EC's and lower SAT's and GPAs from my school have gotten in (I am in-state as well).

I also applied to Virginia Tech's Business school, undecided-- but as a reach. My SAT scores are somewhat similar...

Male, (hopefully) in-state
630V, 640M, 630Writing
3.0 GPA, 2 APs (3 yrs @ competitive, international school)
Senior GPA: 4.1 (DoDDs school)
Weak ECs (a LOT of band)
Completed mini-essay, submitted nice rec f/ counselor

Anyway, I think your in: your GPA is solid, you've challenged yourself academically, and you've displayed leadership through your ECs. A higher SAT (>1300?) would've guarenteed you admission. I only say this because VaTech's decisions are based primarily on the numerical stats. But I wouldn't worry. In fact, I'd be surprised if you weren't accepted.

I've heard that JMU's business program is pretty impressive. Actually, I have a few friends in VA that applied to both VaTech & JMU for business, and they can't decide which of the two they'd attend if they were accepted into both. I also applied to JMU and am beginning to have second thoughts about taking VaTech over it. (that's even if I'm fortunate enough to get accepted to both!). Even if JMU's program is actually slightly inferior, it's location is undeniably better than that of VaTech. Blacksburg is pretty boring, but maybe your into that sort of thing...
Anyway, my point is, if you're not accepted to VaTech, I'd highly recommend considering JMU...but then looking at the schools you've applied to, I'm assuming you'd take either of the PA schools over JMU anyday. Well, whatever.
