Chances at VT engg please

I'd like some help considering my chances entering Virginia Tech's engineering school for the fall of 2008. My intended major is chemical or electrical engineering.

White male from North Carolina at a top private school
SAT I (math/CR/writing): 770, 690, 670
Moderate extracurriculars, I don't have credit for lots of super active things, but I have 9 sports credits.

My unweighted GPA is... oh, 3.3? 3.4? 3.5? Not that high. Unweighted, though, is 4.0. Senior year it's 3.5/4.25.

Course load for my last two years:
11th:
American History
AP BC Calculus
AP Chemistry
AP English III
Computer Graphics
Honors Physics
Russian II
12th:
AP Biology
AP English IV (Literature in the Harlem Renaissance 2nd semester)
AP Physics
AP Psychology
Calculus III
German I
Russian II

I have the most difficult course load in my entire school this year, and my recs should be awesome.

Thanks a lot! :)

VT doesn't even look at recs, so that's not going to do anything for you. Your SAT scores alone look great, but the unweighted GPA is a little off. They can't judge by what it will be at the end of senior year since they will be making their decision long before then. Your GPA is the one thing you can't change at this point in time, but I still think that as an OSS who would be paying the OOS tuition dollars, you have an excellent shot at getting in to the Engineering school.
