Chances at W&M.

I live in VA. & I'm currently a junior. William & Mary is my first choice school & I'm pretty sure I'm going to apply early decision there. What are my chances there?

GPA - 3.6 weighted

Rank - top 25%

SAT I - 600 V / 600 M / 680 W = 1870 total
(first time taking it, but it'll definitely be well above 2000 before i apply)

SAT II - none yet.

I'm taking the hardest courseload available and will graduate with the completion of 8 AP's and the only Honors course available. I'm hoping to be an AP scholar.

EC - JV Soccer (9), Fall Theatre Production Costume Designer (9), Indoor Soccer League (10), School of the Arts (9), Model UN (10), Rams & Lambs [(tutoring) 10-11)], Key Club (11), New Horizon's Governor's School (11), Peer Partners (11), NHGS Student Advisory Board (11), and clarinet for 6 years.

I'm applying for the National Honor Society in March. I have work experience as a youth intern, community service hours with the Red Cross, and I'll graduate with the honor's program seal for the school division.

Tentative schedule for next year:
1. AP US Govt
2. AP Calc AB
3. AP Stats
4. AP Lit
5. AP Microeconomics
6. Physics
7. Business Law
8. Journalism

I'm thinking about dropping journalism to take a psychology class over at W&M. Any thoughts on this?

Your rank and GPA are going to work against you. 80% of admitted students are top 10%, and 97% are top 25%. That said, I got in with a GPA similiar to yours, so it's definitely possible. Work hard to get your GPA up 2nd semester, and the SAT could use a boost too (which you acknowledge you except that you will score higher).

Your schedule is good... try to find an EC or two that you can show strong multi-year commitment to in your application (a lot of them seem to be only 1 year long).
