So I have been looking at Wake Forest and it seems like a great school! I would like to know what you think my chances of getting accepted into Wake Forest are.
Stats:
GPA: 3.7 out of 4.0. Upward trend from freshman year.
ACT:Have yet to take it. They don’t require it, but I will take it. Est. at least 30
IB:N/A
AP:Will be taking AP Chem and AP Bio as those are the only AP classes offered at my school. I want to self-study the physics and calc courses as well.
Junior year courses:Band, AP Chem, Physics, College Algebra, Gifted English 3, German 3, Am. Gov. (semester class), and Psychology (semester class). I predict I will do well in all of these classes. The only one I’m not so sure of is AP Chem.
Senior year courses: Band, AP Bio, Anatomy and Physiology, Calculus, Gifted English 4, Phys ed., Personal Finance (semester class), Geography (semester class) Again same as junior year, except I am unsure of Calculus. We will see.
ECs: (I think these would count as ECs, correct me if I’m wrong)
Section leader in band (trumpet), Pittsburgh State Four State Honors band, District Band, Conference Band, District Solo/Ensemble Contest (1 Rating for solo), State Solo/Ensemble Contest (2 Rating for solo), marching band, computer building/repair.
As far as the financial side of it goes, I am out of state, but, I ran everything through their net price calculator and it was actually really affordable. So finances are a non-issue.
I come from a really small town in MO and the high school doesn’t really have very many opportunities for the more advanced students, which sucks. Also, my freshman year and so far this year, I have had problems with my Geometry/Algebra 2 teacher. I don’t want to get into it, but if I didn’t have these issues, my GPA would be higher. I am glad to be out of his class for next year.
I know the acceptance rate is not the highest at around 30% but hey, you have to try, right?
