Thanks

Reach.
work on your essays and your scores.

If what I need to work on is my scores (which I will do anyway), would it be beneficial to not send them to wake? I just figured that since it is SAT optional, the SATs wouldn’t be a big factor
-Thanks

Here’s the way I’m thinking the adcoms at Wake and other schools not requiring standardized tests view SAT scores:

Yes, SATs are not required when applying. However, they are considered if submitted. Lots of students submit SATs because their scores are high and reflect a high aptitude, which is what Wake is looking for in their freshman class. Those who score well in SATs generally have good GPAs too. If they have good ECs and work hard on the essays, they probably have a good chance of being admitted.

If a student does not submit their SAT scores, it’s likely that the adcoms may assume that the student did not score well, which is not what Wake is looking for in their next freshman class. How can a student show them that Wake should want to include him/her? To be admitted without SAT scores, every other aspect of your application should be stellar.

I’m just saying that just because Wake doesn’t require SAT scores doesn’t mean that they want students with low scores. When people ask what their chances are they need to realize that they have a “handicap” when competing with those who do have good scores (and there are LOTS of good scores which get submitted to a school like Wake). Bring up the numbers and you’ll have a much better chance.
