@RaVNzCRoFT if I took Math 2 and didn’t do well, would you recommend only sending biology? Would my biology score enhance my application?

I didn’t take biology but your score is good, so send that. But I wouldn’t send a math score unless you get over a 750 on level 2, like I said.

^ I agree with RaVNzCRoFT - don’t bother to retake Math Level 1, just take Math Level 2, and only send it if the score is good. Math 2 has a more forgiving curve, so good math students who have taken pre-Calc tend to get better scores on it than Math 1. Don’t send the Math 1 score. This advice assumes that you have taken Pre-Calc and all of the courses before it (Alg, Alg 2, Geometry) , so you would have learned all of the Math Level 2 material.

Regarding biology, no reason not to send a good score, so go ahead and send it.

Thanks guys! And yes I just finished precalc and will be in AP Calc next year.

Just in case you were wondering, I’m pretty sure you can get at least 5 wrong on Math 2 and still get an 800. I got a 790 >.< lolll

Yeah I knew that. I was actually signed up to take Math 1, Math 2 and Biology all this June but the day of the test I only took two because I had finals that week and I knew I needed to study for Math 2 at least a little but I didn’t have time and I didn’t think I needed to study for Math 1 and I only very briefly studied for like half an hour the night before for bio.

definitely take math 2. i’m quite good at math but no natural whiz, I didnt study and got 780 and I am sure I could have got 800 with some review. If you are decent at math and study then 750+ is nearly guaranteed and 800 is attainable. I think ~15% of those who take it get 800.

Enjoy your senior year. You’ve got an excellent record and you’re going to get into an excellent college. Your grades, scores, etc. clearly meet Wash U’s profile, as well as those of several of the other schools you’ve said you’re interested in. However, these days, nothing is 100%. With your record, I’d be surprised if you don’t get into several excellent schools.

With respect to Wash U – visit if you can, take an interview on campus, and if you can do so honestly, make sure they know how wonderful you think Wash U is, and how your visit has really impressed you (btw, do the same at any interview, to the extent you can do so honestly).
