Chances at Yale, MIT, Columbia among others....

Im a HS senior at a competitive public school in NYC. I'm Southeast Asian, basically Indian, (URM?) and an immigrant.

My GPA is right now around a 91/100, which my college advisor says is a 3.8. My midyears should be really good, considering Im anticipating an avg around 99, with a 99-100 in AP Calc, 94 in AP Chem, and 90 in AP Eng. Toughest cirrculum possible. New school, so we only had AP US Hist. and AP Span. last year.

AP's
US Hist-4
Chem-will take
Calc. BC-will take
Eng-will take

SAT I: 2080 (660 V, 730 M, 690 W:11 E)
ACT: 34 (33 E, 34 M, 34 R, 36 S, 10 W)-SUBMITTING THESE SCORES
SAT IIs: Chem-770, Math IIC-800-SUBMITTING THESE TO ALL SCHOOLS THAT REQUIRE SAT IIs

EC's and awards are average...Math Team, Hospital Volunteer, Service, Key Club are probably the highlights, Various Awards, Nothing very special, NO sports because my school has no sports, literally.
The ECs are a bit hindered due to the fact that my school is new(were the 2nd graduating class), and that I have two younger sisters to take care of, while my parents work from like 8AM-12AM...

I have work experience as a Tutor, and soon I'll start working at a Cellphone store.

Essays: I think they are good. My AP Eng teacher said my Common App essay was good. Plus I decided to gamble and be different with my essays. I think it will work

Recs: Awesome. My Sci. and Math Recs span 2 pgs each, and have an unbelievable outside Rec from a Texas Tech professor.

And if anyone knows what the NYS regents are, I did very well on them. Nothing below 93 except on Spanish. Average Score is like a 95 excluding Spanish.

So what are my chances at...
Yale
MIT
Columbia
NYU
Johns Hopkins
Sophie Davis (if anyone knows what it is)
Duke
Binghamton
McGill (I was going to apply, but my dad stopped me. Still I'd like to transfer later on)

Thanks, all help is apperciated! Thanks alot for any feedback!!

In at McGill
NYU-safe match
SAT I could be higher and your so called weak ECs make MIT, Columbia, and Yale big reaches

Indians are over-represented minorities, to be quite honest.

I can't comment on your chances at the Ivies or MIT, because they're a bit of a crapshoot, but you have a reasonable go.

ORM from overrepresented state with mediocre GPA and ECs. I don't think the ivies, MIT, Duke are going to happen.

Good chance at NYU but don't expect much aid.

B407-I know the sat I are low, thats why Im going to submit ACT scores

Aww, I sort of knew being Indian would be a disadvantage. Anyone else want to comment?

Yale and MIT are out of reach.

Columbia (reach)
NYU (match)
Johns Hopkins (match)
Sophie Davis (don't know but should be accepted)
Duke (match)
Binghamton (safety)
McGill (don't know canadian requirement)

thanks chaoses, anyone else want to comment, all feedback apperciated

bump......

You should get into McGill, as I believe they don't consider EC's at all, just test scores and GPA. Why does your dad not want you to go to McGill? I know internationally, McGill has a much better reputation than NYU,, Binghamton. It's probably up there w/ Duke, and if it was a US school, it'd probably be ranked anywhere from 5-15,especially in medicine. IDk what you want to major in, i would pick McGill.

and chaoses, i disagree with your logic. While I do agree that MIT and Yale are out of reach for this applicant, how can you say that Duke is a match? It's not like Duke's just THAT much easier to get in. I'd put duke as a reach.

because mcgill is far from home...as I wrote, i have lots of family responsibilities
