chances at yale, uc Berkeley, stanford

Hi! These three schools are my dream schools and want to know if I have a chance at any of them! The problem is, Stanford and yale both have restricted early action, and I don't know which one to apply early to! I would rather go to Stanford, but if I have absolutely no chance there, I might apply to yale EA because I am a legacy (dad went there). And UC Berkeley obviously doesn't have any early options but I am nervous about my chance of acceptance since I am out of state.

Essay: I might write about my experiences of growing up in a town with a very limited Asian population.. not sure though!

Where do you approx rank in your class (top 1%, top 10%)…you will be compared with other students in your high school. I see only 2 AP Jr year and 2 sophomore year. So as such, academics are not as rigorous as compared to a lot of the other kids (esp Asians) who are going to apply EA. Again, if this is the highest rigor in your school, you may be fine. But again, that sort of leeway happens at private feeder schools, not at public…Again, it really depends where you fall, when they compare you with your peers from your high school

Legacy at Yale may give you some advantage - go with Yale. Stanford is incredibly hard to get in EA, they only defer their best candidates and most still did not get in RD. Better scores on ACT/SAT and subject tests are needed as well. So for now, I will still give you 10% chance at Yale and 5% at Stanford. Good luck.

Berkeley as OOS you will have better chance. But you are paying OOS tuition.yes…still cheaper than Yale/Stanford - I guess.

I would recommend doing EA for Yale. I think you would have a lot better shot at that than Stanford.
Stanford: reach-10%
Yale: high match-40% (they take legacy seriously)
Berkeley-match/high match-60%
