Recs should be very good
essays at least decent- one about service, one about music, one about sort of my view of architecture

double legacy at yale (if sibling counts?)
applying early action at yale

thoughts please!

oh.. and various departamental awards, nm commended, s.o. medals, musics awards (nothing national or anything)

oh.. keep forgetting things.. i have gotten all As except one B

yale = reject.

i definitely think you have a shot, or at least as much as everybody else does, especially because you are a legacy...however, what is your class rank?

wats ur gpa?

your ECs lack, so expect a reject

You guys are just jealous. There's nothing wrong about this guy at all, and s/he's got legacy! His or her ECs are not bad, s/he just didn't try to talk them up ridiculously like everyone else here :p You've got a shot for sure.

....and so does everyone else. I guess Brown is your best bet.

hmm.. this is somewhat sobering
gpa = 3.998 (uw- school doesnt weight)
school doesn't rank either, but it would be top 10ish out of 500

any other thoughts?

please, anyone?

just go for it, if you don't get in, so what, it's $65 down the drain. i think you're qualified but yale does reject a whole lot of people. legacy may help too.

Define "program at UMich/Cornell" Are you a TASPer too?

What's a TASPer?

no, i didnt do TASP
i was in a society of women engineers program, for two weeks (its one week now, but i did it two years ago)
at cornell, I was at summer college, a 6 wk program w/ two college credit courses

bump...
help me out please!

Are your Legacies both siblings, or is one a parent? Because sibling legacies don't really help very much.

If one of your parents went, you have a fair shot and more if they are a generous alum. Your scores are just average for Yale, GPA is good if your school is very competitive and hopefully you're from a state that's underrepresented.

one parent, one sibling, plus several aunts/uncles (but that doesn't do too much)

hmm.. parent donates, but nothing significant
my school is relatively competitve (around 32 national merit out of 600, i think)
im from michigan
