Chances at Yale?

I’m a senior in high school, and I live in a suburb of Raleigh, NC. Ideally, I’d like to double major in Political Science and Statistics and Data Science. I retook the ACT this month, and I got my multiple choice scores back today. I was hoping for a 34, but got a 33. I’d appreciate any insight or advice.

Thank you so much in advance!

Just curious, you took the ACT 3 times, but didn’t take the SAT? Or, were you clearly better on the ACT than SAT?

IxnayBob,

I only took the ACT twice, and I wrote the scores for both in the original post. On the first test in March 2017, I got a composite score of 32, and on the September 9th test (10 days ago), I got a composite score of 33. I’m not planning on taking it a third time, as I was under the impression that it doesn’t look good to take a test more than twice.

I took the SAT in December 2016 and got a 1380 (without essay included). I found the ACT easier, so I went with that test. I’m fairly certain that according to Yale’s test policy, one must send all scores from either the SAT or ACT. So, I left the 1380 out since it’s mediocre when compared to my ACT scores.

@bab54251 , oh, my reading comprehension is low today

I just wanted to be sure that you had tried the SAT, as some kids have a preference for one test or the other.

Good luck
