chances based on likely letter at unc

<p>here are my stats, and yes i am 100% positive it was a likely letter</p>

<p>I am an african american male who is OOS for UVA and UNC
My GPA IS 3.3 unweighted 4.3 weighted (I am in the ib program)(school ranked 11th in nation)</p>

<p>My extracurriculars </p>

<p>3 years varsity tennis
3 years teen court jury
7 years boy scout
Eagle scout
Two years SADD
Two years volunteering in hospital at ER
Two years volunteering at local elementary school with hands on science</p>

<p>200+ hours of ssl
2 years actor in drama
Boy scout National HOnor society</p>

<p>Senior patrol leader for boy scout troop
started up a successful tennis coaching business (revenue of over $40000 per yr)
Lead younger scouts (den chief)

sat math-750</p>

<p>so based on this and the fact that my gpa for 1st semester will be about 2.8, (i am taking an extremely tough work load), what are my chances</p>

<p>you are so in. great grades, test scores, ecs, and your a boy scout. cant get much better than that</p>

<p>I say you're probably in based on URM status, difficult course load, and good test scores. However, I would advise you to focus your extracurricular activites so you show more of an interest in particular areas like boys scouts and tennis rather than throw in a laundry list of hospitals, schools, drama, NHS, and court jury. It says right on the UVa application that they would prefer you submit a short list of extracurriculars that you are passionate about rather than a long resume that doesn't tell anything specific about you.</p>
