Chances: Be Honest

I have been getting A LOT of mail and emails from WUSTL and I am starting to get interested. Here are my credentials:

Weighted GPA on 4.0: 4.17

Unweighted GPA: 3.8

Class Rank: 18 of 289

AP Tests: AP Lang 5, AP Euro 5

Current AP Classes: AP US History, AP US Gov, AP Lit, AP Calc

SAT: 660 Reading,620 Math, and 630 Writing. Total 1910

ACT: 28

3 years of Spanish

Extracurriculars:Baseball, Junior Mentoring (mentoring 8th graders), Honor Flight (veterans organization), National Honors Society, and possibly also Philosophy club.

In college I am considering a History or Political science major, possibly a double major with both of them. I am also considering both Air Force and Army Rotc.

WUSTL is somewhat of a reach for most everyone, but in your case, I think it’s a super reach because of your test scores, which fall out of their mid 50% range. Your EC also don’t really convey much depth, unless you haven’t really listed an activity into which you put a lot of your efforts. I think that to be a bit more competitive, your scores will need to improve.

Agreed with PsychoDad10. ACT/SAT are relatively low, and ECs aren’t too impressive. You’d need at least a 32 or 2150 to be a bit competitive.
