i just wanted to know my chances before i submit my application this friday (at least that's my goal-i have one more essay to write).

my basic academic stats are:

rank: 1/433 at a pretty good nocal high school (800+ api score w/ some type of distingushed award)
gpa: 4.0 uw; my school doesn't do weighted
act: 30 (27 in eng and reading, 33 in sci. and 34 in math)
ap test scores: calc bc 5 (ab subscore 5); us his 4
i plan on taking stats, macro, and physics b in may

major: math and econ

i think my rec is average (didn't read it), decent essays (i suck at writing), pretty good ecs.

i also wanted to know if it was a good idea to send in my math IIC score (800). but im afraid they'll see all my other sat I and II scores, which are pretty bad (one of which is a 560 for cr).

I'd say that you've got a pretty darn good shot at Umich...at least a match in my opinion...

as for the sat thing...seeing as Umich doesnt require any sat2's...i personally would not send the score...sending the math sat2 score gives you no advantage but letting them see the other score might (key word on might) hurt your chances...

btw, i just wanted to know if me being a "tomboy" and how im not afraid to be different make for a good #3 essay topic? the one about what i can bring to the campus. b/c i honestly don't know what i can write about.

I think the best advice for that essay is, as cliche as it sounds, just write from the heart. Seriously. Let the U know who you are, get into it, SHOW YOUR PERSONALITY!!! Good luck, you sound like you stand a great chance of being admitted!
