What was your exact score on the AP exam? Selective universities like Boston College and Boston U will not usually except AP scores less than a 4. Overall your GPA and extra-curricular will give you a decent shot at these two universities.

Well, AP Biology is offered. I mean there’s a good amount of physics involved in Bio so I didnt think me taking AP physics over AP biology would be frowned upon lol And I did take AP chemistry, which should look good.

I don’t think either BC or BU would be reaches. Don’t worry about AP scores, neither college will care, you self report them anyway. You’re above BC’s 50th percentile for ACT scores, and you’re top 6%, so you’re in the clear stat-wise.

If I had to criticize, I would say your activities are a little weak, but at least you have volunteer work related to your major, so that’s always a plus.

Don’t stress it, I think you have a good shot at both schools. Just focus on BC’s essay. I would also be surprised if you didn’t get some decent merit aid from BU.

I wouldn’t call BU a selective university as far as selective universities go. BC has an acceptance rate half that of BU, plus a yield of 5% higher. Either way, I would say you are in at BU, and have a really good shot at BC.

I think you should get into both. I would also look at the department as a whole. I go to neither school, but I am under the impression that bu has a much stronger bio dept as bc simply does not have the research-heavy professors, equivalent lab space, or a med school. A great way to get insight into the programs is to email the department heads.
