Depending in your grades at your future community college you will have an excellent shot at most of your choices. In fact, Pace is quite easy to get into. Had you applied this year you would have had an excellent merit aid package form them. I think BU and GW will be most competitive for you, but you have a very good chance. I don't know anything about Eugene Lang. They will love that you are from California.

Will being from California and applying to only East Coast schools help me? I had never heard of that before... but yes... my original college plan was going to CalState Long Beach here in SoCal for sole purpose of cheap in-state tuition... big mistake on my part.... of course... now I want to go to east coast... anybody help???!!

What are my chances at any of the above mentioned... and do you know anything about financial aid (stingy vs generous).... and should I even think about transferring as early as Spring '06... or is that TOO early..... anybody answers??

Well I know Pace was upfront about the merit aid package (I say package bcs it included things besides $ like guaranteed internship, laptop , other stuff that I don't recall, some benifit to research and study abroad etc.).

BU I understand has very generous aid for the right stats. They may have a chart which tells you what you can expect, but you can always call these schools to find out.

Geography helps some, bcs they want to diversify where their student body comes from, but it will not be a substitute for stats.

thanks for the info... ya I was just at Pace (i did the whole info sesh/ tour thing) and they mentioned all that good stuff, laptop and stuff....

thanks again....

George Washington is very expensive and I don't know how aid is. Your stats as they are now more than likely will not give you merit aid at American, although I did hear of a student with similar stats to yours from Ca. who did get merit aid, which surprised me. It was through a 3rd person that I got this info from so it could have been financial aid. I cannot say.
